The Momase region of Papua New Guinea (PNG) encompasses the provinces of Morobe, Madang, East Sepik, and West Sepik. This region is geographically diverse, featuring coastal areas, lowland rainforests, and mountain ranges. It is rich in cultural diversity, with numerous indigenous communities, each speaking different languages and maintaining distinct traditions. The economy of the Momase region is centered around agriculture, particularly in the cultivation of crops like cocoa, coffee, and palm oil, as well as fishing and mining in some areas.
Volunteer projects in the Momase region focus on improving key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability. Volunteers collaborate with local communities to implement programs aimed at enhancing access to education, providing healthcare services, and promoting sustainable farming practices. Additionally, volunteers often engage in initiatives to improve water and sanitation, support local businesses, and help protect the region’s unique ecosystems. Partnering with the National Volunteer Service of PNG into Service Delivery the Region is Administrated by are Regional Office to oversee the Volunteers Performance and the Volunteers Placement within Region that divided into four provinces:
- Morobe Province
- Madang Province
- Sandaun Province
- East Sepik province
